Issue Identified and Corrected: Telehealth Claims with Code W5604

For: Professional and Facility Providers

A recent Highmark system update resulted in telehealth claims billed with the place of service code 02 to incorrectly deny code W5604.

The incorrect denials began on March 19, 2026, with the coding corrected on April 16, 2026.

Resolution: All incorrect claims will be identified and adjusted. Impacted providers do not need to contact Highmark. The adjustments are expected to be completed within 45 days of this communication.
