Last month, we highlighted the importance of universal blood lead toxicity testing for children. For EPSDT Highmark Wholecare members with a confirmed Blood Lead Level of 3.5 µg/dL or higher, providers can refer them to an Environmental Lead Investigation (ELI) Provider. These important ELI services, assist in identifying lead in the home, are covered for eligible members.
Highmark Wholecare has 3 Environmental Lead Investigation Providers:

If Lead is Found in the Home
The State of Pennsylvania requires that lead-based paint fixes must be made by a licensed lead abatement (removal) contractor. If home repairs for lead are needed, they must be done by a licensed EPA Renovation Repair and Painting contractor.
