PCPs and OBGYNs: An Update on Doulas Enrolled in the Medical Assistance Program

Certified perinatal doulas enrolled in the Medical Assistance (MA) Program can now be credentialed by Highmark Wholecare. Please visit our website here for additional information regarding PA Medical Assistance Bulletin 13-24-01 and to learn more about enrollment requirements.

Highmark Wholecare recognizes the importance of including doulas as a member of the patient’s care team. To ensure care coordination and open communication for each patient, please make sure an order and/or referral information for doula services is notated in the patient’s medical record.
