Coordinating with Case Management: Release of Information Not Needed for Certain Discussions

As a friendly reminder, members are not required to sign a Release of Information for your office or pharmacy staff to speak with Highmark Wholecare Case Managers (CMs) regarding payment, treatment, and operational matters.

Highmark Wholecare is committed to providing whole person care for our members by addressing their physical, mental, and social needs. Our Case Management Team leads numerous programs and initiatives tailored to meet these member needs. Open communication and collaboration with our network providers and pharmacists help these programs succeed.

Our CMs are here to support you. They may contact physician practices and pharmacies to discuss a care plan, update and review medications, schedule appointments, and arrange various services like home health visits, equipment distribution, or medication delivery. By working together, we can collectively improve the health outcomes of our members and your patients.

If you have any questions, please contact our Case Management team at 1-800-392-1147 (Medicaid) or 1-800-685-5209 (Medicare). TTY users dial 711.
